1. Vancouver, British Columbia

Vancouver is the best place to start trips going north.

Great provisioning available!

If you’re looking for a large city with many entertainment options and friendly locals, Vancouver is your spot.  There are many restaurants, bars, shopping, and grocery/ liquor stores within walking distance or a short taxi ride from either of the marinas.  You will also find fantastic waterfront parksand other recreation here.

2. Pender Harbour

The next stop north of Vancouver, about 5 hours

This is a small harbor with several small inlets to explore.  You may also enjoy crabbing and a few restaurants while anchored here. Very minimal supplies available. No moorage, anchorage only.

3. Princess Louisa Inlet

About 6 hours from Pender Harbour

This area is a protected wilderness area and is a marine park reserve (absolutely no fishing or crabbing). There are over 50 waterfalls, the largest one being Chatterbox fallsat the end of the inlet., providing fresh, clear drinking water. There are several short hikes, one long extreme hike, and great swimming with the water temperature around 70 degrees. This area is a Glory favorite!

*There are two scheduled stops daily to the Malibu rapids (entrance to Princess Louisa inlet) for around $275/person from Seattle. Flight time is about 2 hours. Private charters are also available from Seattle and Vancouver for around $2300 but MUST be booked in advance as there is no cell or radio service once inside the inlet! Anchorage only.

4. Refuge Cove

Centrally located in the middle of Desolation Sound

Refuge Cove is the only place for provisions in the area.  There is a small grocery store, post office, trash barge, coffee shop/bistro and liquor store. No moorage, anchorage only.

5. Pendrell Sound

Pendrell Sound is a great place to spend time in the water! The water is around 70 degrees, the shellfish are abundant, and the bottom fishing is excellent. There are no services for about an hour and no moorage, anchorage only.

6. Teakerne Arm

Teakerne Arm is an excellent place for beach fires and oysters. You will also enjoy outstanding fishing, an inspiring waterfall, and a nice two hour scenic hike to a beautiful lake.  No services, anchorage only.

7. Walsh Cove

Walsh Cove is another good place for beach fires, also with an abundant of oysters and mussels, and great fishing.  The water is a very comfortable 70 degrees and from the seat of the boat you may view ancient petroglyph writings.  There are no land activities (other than beach fires), no services and anchorage only.

8. Toba Wilderness Park

Toba Wilderness Park is a beautiful spot with unlimited fresh glacial water available. Activities in this area include a short hike to a waterfall, good fishing, and several spots for bear viewing.  The water is also perfect here at 70 degrees. There are no services and moorage only.

9. Knight Inlet

This is a very remote spot with no land activities, but the area does provide good fishing and crabbing as well as many bear sightings. Knight Inlet is an intimate setting for some of the most beautiful sunsets you’ll see. There are no services, anchorage only.

10. April Point Resort & Spa

Located on Quadra Island

The April Point marina is a great place to start or end your trip.  This ideal spot contains many land activities, a fantastic spa, al fresco dining, a sushi bar, shopping, and scooter rentals.  The scooters are a great way to see Quadra Island where there are grocery stores, much more shopping and an art tour. Many local artists may be found on the island with all kinds of art and crafts to see and buy.

*There are scheduled daily flights (about 2 hours and around $275/person from Seattle) to the April Point marina as well as to Painters Lodge where there is a water taxi (5 minutes) that will take you directly to the April Point marina (where the Glory will be).
*There is the option of flying via land plan into Campbell River (about 1 ½ hours and about $225/person from Seattle) and then taking a shuttle (about 20 minutes) to Painters Lodge in Campbell River.

11. Campbell River

Fourth largest city on Vancouver Island

Great provisioning available.

This is a small city with all amenities including malls and many fabulous restaurants.  Don’t miss the delicious smoked salmon! The Glory does not usually moor at Campbell River, we are just across the strait at April Point.

12. Blind Channel Resort

Blind Channel Resort is a full service marina on West Thurlow Island, on Canada's Pacific Coast. It is located north of Desolation Sound and on the route for boaters heading to Alaska, and salmon heading to their streams. There are some nice hikes along creeks with many old growth cedars. Don’t leave without seeing the beach and nearby woods that contain a full of a variety of seasonal berries.
